Guest pdes Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I am at the end of my teather! I purchased SpriteBackup last night but have failed to install on my Samsung i900 (Omnia). The device constantly reports that there is a previous version and asks whether it should be over-written. When I agree, I get another dialogue box that says the previous version cannot be removed but asks if I should continue anyway. When I agree to this, the cab seems to be installing but the device reports that the installation has been unsuccessfulI have been throught Sprite's FAQs and have: 1) Used Sprite's uninstall tool which says that the uninstall was "successful" 2) Searched my files and deleted anything with the word "Sprite" in it. 3) Searched the registry and deleted everything with the word "Sprite" in it. 4) Tried the install directly from the .cab file I need to run this backup urgently as I need to flash the device's ROM. Any ideas as to what else I can do. Thanks.

Guest NikosR Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I installed it without problems but when I restored a backup, I discovered that many programs were no longer working due to a licence (?) problem. So I had to do a hard reset and reinstall everything.

Well, it worked - despite the unsuccessful installation message! Thanks for the pointer, I must have wasted four hours on this and now realise that it must have installed each time. Cheers
