Ok, so I know how to turn the 3g Off in the menu settings to perserve battery life. However, it requires multiple clicks. Is there a way to somehow make it less complicaten. ie. on today plugin indicator that would instantly do that? Or some other program that could be button attached?

Have you tried Paul's NoDATA app? It's designed for disabling data connections when roaming, but might serve your needs, since you could probably assign it to a button.

No, this is not what I want ... I want Edge connection as deafault and 3G when needed to be turned on in some simple manner and switched off the same way.

There is a program called Band Switch but it seems not to work on Omnia.

Start->Settings->Phone->More->Band Selection

I notice 3g is not making any different if it's not connected. you might want to disable Pushmail if you're not using it

Start->Settings->Phone->More->PushMail = Off

and minimize usage of 3rd party skin/theme. I'm with SJSamsungTheme2Black and Flatblack theme, simple yet nice thourough black look.

I've written that I know how to do this already.

I just need a quicker way...

And I am connected almost 100% of the time. Therefore I switching of connection is no good either.
