What did you do? Did you try incompatible Rom? (e.g. i900l)

I though you sold your Omnia already to finance HTC HD????

Have you tried to install linux GRUB bootloader? B)

Can you give details on what happened exactly? I wonder if Samsung's components are reliable enough. I had myself problems on phone starting last week because of a bad charging battery issue, and this morning it did not wake up after stand-by.

Even if the second point is due to SRS WOW, it increased my psychosis for a while: too much pain for a week to stay zen B)

Nah, it was my foolishness / adventurousness that killed it... B)

The HD keeps taunting me!

Gonna stick with the Omnia for a while though i reckon... i have actually fallen in love with the optical mouse which is weird cos i know alot of people that think its crap lol.

Its the HD's screen size and res that keeps making me want to switch... but then i look at the overall device size of the Omnia and well... im going backwards and forwards here! B)

I also stay at my omnia, wont waste money for HTC HD brick-like phone.

My omnia is much sexier. B) And will run linux soon. B)

i agree.. omnia has much more sex appeal B) and the HD's lack of hardware buttons is a bit of a put off... plus it only has the better screen over the omnia, other than that both are quite similar... xD

This is exactly what happened to mine. I know it sucks, but glad to know I'm not the only one, sending mine off tomorrow, as I had lost my proof of purchase for a long ol' time, and now have found it.

I'm tempted by the HD too, and almost sold my Omnia, but I'm waiting to hear more about how the masses judge it, particularly the camera.

In other news, my wife's been after me to sell my other five phones to recoup the cost of the Omnia, but this ever-present risk of flash burnout keeps me worried. Thinking I'll get rid of most of my other phones and keep my TyTN as a backup (not worth much on the second-hand market nowadays anyway).

And hey, who's to say what's sexy. If it can (barely) fit in your pocket, you could always claim that size DOES matter. B)

If I were you, this is my perfect excuse to buy the HD while waiting for the Omnia, and when it comes, I sell it immediately, or not! B)

Oh yeah, forgot, financial crises, hold on to your money and all that... ah... well... B)

Hi paul I'm sorry for your device...

Is ther a solution to restart Omnia after a brick?

Why for htc is possible and for Samsung is impossible???

Well Samsung UK returned it, unrepaired as it's a foreign (Singapore) device. Damn! B)

What’s the difference, the phone is the same where ever you get it, its only the firmware that’s different, is Samsung that petty.

It is not possible you to get a any help from "Win Control"!!! B)

Isn't that bordering on the illegal? I remember when people started importing cars from Europe because they used to be significantly cheaper and the UK dealers wouldn't honour any warranty. I'm sure that in the end they had to. It's a Samsung phone regardless of where you bought it so surely they can't just choose to ignore it.

Well Paul I am really sorry for your loss.

I'd like to thank you for your efforts in helping other Omnia users.

And know that your phone did not die for nothing. It died and honorable death in the service of other Omnia phone. B)

Anyways,

If your phone is Singaporean then maybe some fellow Omnia user from Singapore might volunteer to take it to samsung service shop there if you send it to him!

Or you might wanna ask these guys to help you -> http://www.expansys.com

Regards
