Guest dandy Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Can anyone help??? My SPV handset is permanently stuck in the headset profile! I've tried: a. Plugging in and removing the headset countless times b. Wriggling the jack in the socket c. Blowing into headset socket (this was suggested from another post) d. Turning the phone on and off including removing the battery. All to no avail. I would appreciate any other suggestions.
Guest madu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Well, there's always Hard Reset!! (check - it should be one of the sticky's)
Guest Ed Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Switch off, plug in headset, switch on?
Guest dandy Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I tried switching the handset off, plugging in the headset and turning it back on. But guess what, the profile has now moved to CAR!!!! It looks as though I'll have to perform a hard reset once I've backed up my contact etc.
Guest benny Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Mine did this when I had the camera pod plugged in. I emoved the pod and then shut down / restarted the phone, and this action seemed to clear it. HTH B
Guest zenabi Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 You should've noticed in other posts that a Hard Reset may not solve the problem, it's a hardware problem. See http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1444 for a quick fix. I ended up getting a replacement from Orange.
Guest paulend Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 ive had both the car and headset. what i did was plug headset in shut down, restart with headset in, shut down again, unplug headset and restart, it worked for me even tho it is long winded ;) for the car, i just shutdown with the camera in removed it then started back up again.
Guest akarno Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I had this and got a replacement phone from Orange. Someone has suggested blowing very hard into the headphone socket can sometime clear this. Haven't tried it myself.
Guest cwooldridge Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Blowing very hard into the headset socket sorted this one out for me. It reverts back to normal immediately
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I had the same problem. Doing a soft reset didnt even clear this. But what I did find is if I just selected profile 'default' it reverted to normal. Weird. :?
Guest ukmailserver Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I too have experienced this fault. It took a lot of poking and prodding with a pin to get it off 'headset' profile. I have found a fix though that resolves all my issues I had on my SPV. I Changed the handset to a Nokia one. No more stress Barry
Guest dandy Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Cheers folks, thanks for all your advice. I've tried everything you've thrown at me, but the phone remains locked in the headset profile  I think it's time to give Orange a bell, and get them to sort it out! Ditching the SPV for a NOKIA handset is probably the best solution so far!
