How do i install google map to i900?

Hi there just got this phone the other day.

Got it from Vodafone and they have not preinstalled google map onto the pone (as some of you well know)

just downloaded the rar file (of google map) but dont know how to install it on my phone any help would be great.

Hi Alan, the easiest way is to use the phones browser to navigate to m.google.com/maps

Google will autodetect that you're using a mobile and guide you to the right download - it shoud be a .cab

The download will self extract and when you run it just save it to 'my storage'

Just remember to check the 'use gps' in the options otherwise your position will be acurate to the nearest phone mast!

I think you will find that google maps is actually pre-installed on the Vodafone branded Omnia but simply hidden.

You should find the shortcut to the app in the windows folder of your device. Copy the shortcut to windows\start menu\programs.

thanks for all your help im slowly starting to get it now. I have another question. Can iphone application be used on this phone?

Ive been looking over the net and cant find any "fun" applications etc for the phone. Samsung dont really have anything to offer?
