Guest romka99 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Hi everyone. Is there any way to listen to music while having the phone in 'vibrate' mode? The music player's volume seems to be tied to the ringer's volume and when the ringer is set to vibrate (or off for that matter), there's no sound coming through the speakerphone or headset. Do I not have the right settings? Or may be there is a registry tweak? Thanks!!

With my old HTC Touch I did the trick with MortPlayer http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=d...amp;action=list It has a setting for playing Mp3s even if the phone sound was off Don't know if the software can work with the Omnia resolution...I'll try this ASAP

I'll give it a try. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue with the Omnia. It's really quite annoying.
Guest samjuan Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks!! I'll give it a try. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue with the Omnia. It's really quite annoying. it is not the omnia bro, it is windows mobile. and it is not an issue, this is how it is, you will have to get used to it.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Unfortunately it's the one thing we have complained about since day one of the Smartphone.
Guest dottor31 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 MortPlayer doesn't start :-( We have to hope that the developer release an Omnia compatible version! In a few words, it enables the sound function of the phone when it's started and force it to reproduce sounds even if the profile is 'Silent' or 'Vibrate' (just like G-Alarm)
Guest romka99 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 it is not the omnia bro, it is windows mobile. and it is not an issue, this is how it is, you will have to get used to it. didn't have that problem on my old i-mate sp5 on winmo 5.0... maybe it's a winmo 6.0+ issue. also, since you can still talk on the phone, both speakerphone and headset, while in vibrate mode, i'm thinking something can be tweaked to allow music to be played while in vibrate. in other words, vibrate mode doesn't completely turn off the speaker; it does it for certain applications only.
Guest Frankish Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I'm getting my Omnia very soon and this is one thing i'd like to see a work around for. What about the alarm? Does that sound when in Silent?
Guest dottor31 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 There is an option in WM (sounds alarm even when the device is to silent or vibrate). Anyway, I've never used it...G-Alarm already has this function, and it works very well!
