Guest emporto Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Hi Friends; I always get, main memory criticaly low error at my omnia. When I checked the memory level at Settings --> System --> Memory Under Storage section it seems like: Total: 93.34 MB Used: 88.17 MB Free: 5.17 MB I never installed any program to my device memory, I always use My Storage (16GB) section to install software. I do not have much sms or emails or email attachments and also I cleared the opera and ie caches with pocket mechanic and I am sure there is no big file copied to my device memory So what is eating my memory ? I checked the folders with file esplorer but I did not recognized ant big files over 3 MB Is there any opinion and suggestion for my problem ? Where must I look ? Thanks

Thanks Do you get this immediately after soft reset ?? Because my thought is that you have many applications running. Since in Windows Mobile pressing the "X"/"Ok" button doesn't close the app it just minimizes it. If that's the case Install 'wktask' or 'tman' (google, both freewares) so to make the X really close stuff. (I prefer wktask, because tman makes me some problems corrupting the UI)
Guest tomtom1988 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Was going to ask a similar thing now. Trying to install the manilla theme from here but after ive installed one .cab it leaves me with: Memory-Storage total: 83.87MB In use: 82.19MB Free: 1.68MB Memory-Program total: 96.82MB in use: 46.21MB Free: 50.61MB Anyway of using program memory instead of storage as that would distribute it nicely :S
Guest balles Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Try installing PaSSoA's ROM (by the way, thanks PaSSoA!). http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-r...lashlite3-1-uc/ After hard reset you will have more than 85 Mb free.

I did not installed any software to the main memory, I only use my storage section so this means 16 GB free space. But The phones main storage section (which is called as My Device in file explorer) is only 93.34 mb and there is only 1-2 mb free space How can I get more space, because I can not get SMS because of this. Thanks
Guest zagzag99 Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 If you haven't installed anything to memory storage it means you have a ROM that filled the storage space. Try another ROM. I have DXHJ1 ROM installed... and after I did install few programs to the memory storage I am now with about 12MB free. I haven't tried any of the cooked ROMs yet. But judging from threads here there's LITE02 ROM that people seems to like.
Guest emporto Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Yes I agree with you pal, My rom is very large (the official rom of phone) and cost very big space. I can not install other roms because my phone' warranty will be gone if I install a non-official rom, I can only update rom with official samsung turkey country based rom in repair service (not by myself at home) But if it goes like that I will give a try to a new rom, because nothing works with this rom , I can not even get SMS and I see the error there is no space Thanks for your help
Guest zagzag99 Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 If it's branded and warrantied by your phone provider then raise the matter to them. It's your provider's goal for you to send/receive SMS (because that's their best profit) So if it's their cooked rom that is the problem they'd better give you a solution. Or at least allow you to put an official samsung ROM like HJ1
Guest adzrm Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 i had same problem.i had to erase opera temp and uinistall some programs.because also if i have installed ALL programs on my storage they keep using MB on internal memory. the "final fixing" was to reinstall the official ROM and have free space... the thing is that is quite annoying to install everything back, also in perspective that will happen again
Guest Dodger747 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Clearing Opera's cache should do the trick. It's surprising how much space it takes up... B)
Guest emporto Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I cleared the opera cache and temp files of system so I gained some extra memory. Not too much but I have 7 mb total memory now.
Guest travelbug Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 ok sorted the opera deleted cache out however is there an easy way to transfer the opera cache and history to storage card instead of storage ram. my operas cache/history uses something like 15meg any help would be nice cheers
Guest joehero Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 You can change the location of Opera's Cache by doing the following: Create a destination on your Storage Card for the Cahce like \My Storage\Opera\Cache Then in the Opera browser enter "Opera:Config" into the address bar. (Be sure to delete the http://). Scroll down to User Prefs and find the Cache Directory4 Location. Change it to the folder you just created and it will store there from now on. Be sure to clear your cache after you do this to make sure everything is gone from the internal memory. Everyone at this forum has been so helpful, I thought I should start giving back.
