Guest BaconMcSandwich Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Hi there, Currently I have got one of these cases from ADVERTISING SPAM but I really don't like it. It's baulky in my pocket and I have to open it to use the touch screen thus I want a new case. This raises the question, what is you Ominia Wearing? Is it naked in your pocket or have you got a funky case that you love or have you bought something and have since decide to bin it?
Guest XtremeMaC Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 i've this http://www.ADVERTISING SPAM.com/catalog/product_info....roducts_id=7916 i had found it of ebay. that site looks promising thanks for the site.
Guest KingKoresh Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I have a black silicone case off ebay and it fits very well. Protects it from accidental bumps and doesnt add too much to overall size.
Guest zagzag99 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I carry it naked... which makes me all the time careful and a bit worried. On the other hand that's the only way the Omnia keeps it's "look". In stores here I saw a semi cover to Samsung Touch Wiz (F450) which is like a leather rap that is attached to the phone's back with a sticker, and then there's a flip to cover the screen. I think that's a good approach to protect the screen without making the phone less accessible. Too bad it doesn't fit the Omnia :-( From a thread on this site about cases I could only learn that there is no similar case to omnia. All cases are with the concept of PDA not of a phone that you want quick access to it when it rings or keep it on you or to easily use the camera. (PDA you place in you bag or leave on your desk, phone you carry on you)
Guest XtremeMaC Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 i used to carry it naked as well but in my pocket the silly stylus gets on top of the screen and scratches it. i am not totally satisfied with my cover either. i've also got the black silicone, transparent plastic etc... they either kill the looks or kill the screen.
Guest zagzag99 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I thought the stylus might scratch the screen, so I go around without it. On the screen I have a plastic protective foil, but still the stylus isn't one of the Omnia's benefits... it would have been nice to have it in the device like HTC do it.
Guest frmariam Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 InvisibleSHIELD by Zagg... Barelly noticeable and gives full body scratch protection. It's great (though kind of expensive). Only con is that it feels a bit sticky on the touchscreen... Also have a Golla mobile bag when I carry it in my pocket (gives some shock protection plus room for the headphones and stylus).
Guest 1Mack Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I use something like the invisible shield and when not in use I carry it in this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GQL48Y This combo works for me.
Guest saznpins Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I tried the InvisibleShield and the ADVERTISING SPAM flip case and wasn't thrilled with either so I got this one and I'm very happy with it: http://www.noreveusa.com/product/Samsung_S...ather_case.html in "Passion Vintage" which is a lovely deep burgundy color. It's beautiful, and very high quality leather unlike the inexpensive leather of the ADVERTISING SPAM. My only complaint is that you can't really use the belt clip... it's a design flaw, it pops open the magnetic flap on the back <_< But since I am female I am never without a bag (usually a diaper bag, LOL) so I always have a pocket of some sort to keep my Omnia in without the belt clip. I am waiting to see what Vaja will offer for the Omnia B) I'm a leather case junkie B) Oh, and I use a Martin Shields screen protector which unlike the rubbery feel of the InvisibleShield does not inhibit the touchscreen functions at all.
Guest Gibeon Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Im using Invisible shield, and I like it! I even make less mistakes now. Just place the shield and clean it 3/4 times with (a little bit) water and a lot of soap, and it wil become much more smooth. But, with stylus it sucks, but I dont need the stylus B)
Guest zemrwhite2 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 http://www.pielframa.com/leathercases.asp?ID=2047 Bought it (black version) on Amazon.fr along with a screen protection film. It cannot hold the stylus, but I do not use it anymore.
Guest Michael122w Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Up until last night I had a Invisible Shield - its not a bad product which gives you a balance between protecting your device and letting the natural lines of the phone show through. I combined it with a cheap screen protector - as the "grippy" or rubbery texture of Invisible shield is not pleasant when making sweeping movements over the screen. I have a white Omnia and I don't think its the best match with Invisible shield. Invisible shield collects a fair bit of grime around the edges which is pretty obvious against the white case. Also the shield seems to discolour over time (to a dirty yellow colour). It would't be a problem on a black casing - but on white it just looks yuck. (As it turns out - it also doesn't work well with the Omnia car holders on ebay - as the holder ripped off the shield B) ) I also bought a Silicon cover - but it makes my omnia look cheap. I think I am going to go nude with my phone. They have only got a limited life span anyway B)
