Guest Hendrickson Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 What I've done in the past is source a new case or part to make it look new again. I dropped and F*ked my old n95. But managed to get a new outter case from ebay and it looked like new again.
Guest tommyG Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 yer ill guess ill have to wait a while because theres no new cases on ebay yet. had a look on the web and couldnt find anything either.

And after you take the new panels, order a pair of InvisibleShield from ZAGG - i've put one (full cover) on my Omnia right after i bought it and it's still like brand new, without s scratch!!!
Guest tommyG Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 does anyone know an online site to order parts for the omnia? theres certainly not any on ebay yet. Thanks Tom

Guest Unisoldrew Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 May have to try the Zagg one cos my Martin Fields one has a few scratches on it. Very dissapointed!
Guest Steve_T Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Glad it survived, how high was the drop?
Guest tommyG Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Glad it survived, how high was the drop? well i was sitting down in my car, phone on my lap, then when i got up it jumped off my lap landed facedown on the concrete :S god knows how it got scratched the second time, it was in a soft pocket with nothing else!!
Guest leppiel Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 well i was sitting down in my car, phone on my lap, then when i got up it jumped off my lap landed facedown on the concrete :S god knows how it got scratched the second time, it was in a soft pocket with nothing else!! Same thing happened to me, it seems sensitive to some material. I got scratches now right at the place where the vertical scroll bar ends at the top, and very annoying
Guest somedude Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 They have omnia housings on ebay now. I just ordered one.
Guest krelvinaz Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 I'm curious... how much sensitivity on the screen do you loose using the ZAGG on the phone.
Guest Nost@lgia Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 I strongly recommend u all sillicon case!!! I already had dropped my Omnia more than 3 times... (from desk) but it's fine with rubber-like Silicon case. Im up for more practical way than eye-candy stuff about this expensive device....
Guest wiggy6230 Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Hi, Try this link to eBay, I have ordered 1 and am awaiting its delivery will post once recieved with pics if any good and how easy/hard it is to fit. Wiggy6230 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fascia-Housing-Cover...A1%7C240%3A1318
Guest tommyG Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 cool tell us how it goes.
Guest Natsirt Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 i'd think using a case is a wise decision for any omnia user.. unless you're heavily against cases xD but they could offer cheap protection incase of bumps and scratches.. i myself alternate between a ADVERTISING SPAM flip leather case and a silicon case.. both bought off ebay.. and both extremely nice.. the leather case makes it look sophisticated and makes me look like some high class business man.. but im a multimedia student  lol..
Guest choihyun Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I'm curious... how much sensitivity on the screen do you loose using the ZAGG on the phone. i never used the phone b4 i put the ZAGG on the phone, cuz i put it on as soon as i got it. but the sensitivity doesnt bother me at all. it also gives you grip which is helpful for clumsy fools like me =D but if you do install the ZAGG you have to be careful, follow instructions, and squeeze the liquid away from speaker holes. somebody runied their omnia from the ZAGG but mine is fine and ive had it on for about a month now. i also have a leather case from netimes http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=220320984539
Guest wiggy6230 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Hi, The casing from my previous post was a waist of money, very tacky cheap plastic and the screen replacement was not full touch screen and as I found out you cant peel the layers of the touch screen bit apart. So I trashed my touch bit completely. I ordered this proper touch replacement and fitted it, All works good again and I dont have the Voda branding on the front of my phone now either :-) http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/18471.htm I payed a bit extra and got it delivered next day before 1 and it arrived by 11 :-) I also found user Distructions for the assembly/ disasembly of the phone within 1 of the forums here but cant find it to attach the link, they are very good and easy to follow.

I am in exact the same boat. Can you help out with how you did? I was able to peel off the layer of the touch screen so the ribbon was still in tack. The one they sell has a ribbon cable sticking out and I don't think I need to replace that ribbon. PLEASE.........................and they don't deliver to the US .... Help out your Omnia bud Edited January 18, 2009 by randy_c
Guest wiggy6230 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Hi all, When I replaced my touch screen I trashed it the frist time trying to separate the top layer of it. IMHO the best thing to do is replace the whole touch screen ribbon as well, that way you know all is good with the touch screen when fitted. Heres a few links to help out the ordering of touch screens, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...2b09100fe929d9c http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03838 http://www.aliSPAM.com/product-gs/21728077...omnia_i900.html Hope this helps, also follow the user manual listed earlier in this post. Cheers Wiggy

Cheers Wiggy Thank you but still have one more question: Do you have to disassemble the unit completely or certain thing that you don't have to do to replace the screen cover? Service manual show how to disassemble the complete unit and I feel very uncomfortable to do. PLEASE I ordered part from the link you send. I did google check but nothing in US. Ebay have some but not the original cause it's missing the samsung logo. Thanks in advance
