Hi,

newbie here - hope I'm posting ok - apologies if I'm not.

Had the Omnia for a couple of weeks now and really like it.

Anyway, I have been having wi-fi problems and have followed the posts here with interest, but nothing seemed to work. Whilst I could connect to my home network, (Netgear DG834GT Router), I couldn't browse any internet sites. My network is secured and I didn't particularly want to disable the security.

I don't know why this worked for me, but, accessing : Settings > Connections > Wifi > (then accessing my home network settings) and changing the "Data Encryption" option to "AES" from "TKIP", (which my router manual states must be used with the Authentication I'm using, (WPA-PSK)), wi-fi now works like a dream....

Hope this helps someone.......

You're the best! I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure this one out. I downloaded the a utility called vxUtil and I could ping addresses but could not get my browser to go anywhere. So I set up my Netgear WPN824v3 router's wireless settings to WPA+PSK[TKIP] + WPA+PSL[AES] and then set my Omnia i910 to use AES as the encryption method and BOOM BABY!!!!...now I'm browsing and all is well with the world (at least from a stressed Omnia newbie's perception)! Thanks a ton!

Hey guys,

I hope some or all of you could help me set up my Wlan of my Omnia i908/i900. I have tried and tried but like some i can't get to browse the net with it. Now let me start by saying that i have an AP11B wap and it is an open connection (no encryption or key).

on my phone I have in wireless my connection that shows "connected". In network Adapters i have SyChip Jaguar WLAN GSPI Card selected with IP address 192.168.1.100.... Sub mask 255.255.255.0......Default gateway is empty. If i take the option "use server-assigned IP addess, then my phone can't connect to the AP11B eventhough it says "Available" in Wireless.

Another thing i have noticed is that under the drop down list "My network card connects to:" is totally empty. Nothing to choose from in there.

Help help help......

Thx
