HELP Phone Stuck at first Orange Screen!

I was using my phone today and put it in the pocket of my jacket. An hour or so later when i took it out it was off. When i tried to turn it back on it just stuck on the first orange splashscreen and has never moved past it. I've tried removing the battery, removing the SD card, removing the Sim card, removing the battery but with the power cable. None of which worked.

No New software installed recently.

Very reluctant to hard reset the device because of all the messages and contacts i would lose:/

Any Ideas anyone?
