Guest neowl Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 (edited) Would just like to know if it's still covered in the warranty of it I will have to pay a fee for the reapair of my dead Omnia (Death due to update going wrong). I'm guessing I'll have to pay due to the ROM that is on there, but if so, how much do they usually charge?? Edited November 18, 2008 by neowl
Guest neowl Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 So, no-one's interested or has the information then? Sorry for the bump, but I would think that this topic is quite important for dead Omnia owners
Guest saznpins Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) I've never heard of anyone in countries where the Omnia is legitimately sold having to pay for having a bricked device repaired, I think they just fix it if you're lucky enough to have a warranty B) Since I'm in the US and mine is a gray market ebay purchase... if mine dies I will have quite an ordeal to get it fixed most likely B) So just bring it in to a service center and let them have at it! Guest Paul (MVP) Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Mine is back with Samsung atm (UK), so i'll let you know what happens! P
Guest reeshee Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Here is Singapore, they will fix it for free, as long as the warrenty and proof of purchase is still with you. Please try to act dumb and insist on not knowing what happened. ''I dont know.. it just hanged.. black screen.. I did not do anything!'' Gd luck.
Guest Street northeast Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) Mine is back with Samsung atm (UK), so i'll let you know what happens! P Would that be the one in Ashford? its an out sourced contractor called SBE-Ltd I sent my 16gb back to samsung's out sourced repair centre, SBE-Ltd, and they replaced it with a 8gb one B) , after weeks of tossing and towing they are going to replace it again. The first one i sent back that wouldn't charge due to a hardware fault they didn't seem bothered about it having a different firmware on it (at least they never said anything) Edited November 21, 2008 by Street northeast
Guest neowl Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 It's coming back B) Looks like they're not going to charge me for it, thanks to everyone who replied to this thread.
Guest mattlow93 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) Mine now says "engineer assigned" now (as of today) so hopefully I'll get it back within a week. They must have a large number of bricked Omnias so with any luck they'll get it right! Edited November 26, 2008 by mattlow93
