No text option for password box

Upgraded to the latest firmware yesterday and when I have been re-setting things on my phone I come across this problem twice -

I use the Samsung phonepad for the text and when I enter my username and a password to log into a web page that I have subscribed too (ie Modaco) I can't write any text in the password box, username is OK but the T is greyed out when I try switching from numbers, I have to switch to keyboard to enter any text

anyone else getting it?

Yep I get it too :-(

Also, when writing a text the list of suggested words don't always appear under XT9. It will suggest a word as I type but won't give me any way of changing it if it's not the word I want!
