Guest couzo Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 What system are you installing it from? I have a mac and was running my windows partition through fusion and got stuck at 13% of file 1. I disconnected and fully booted into xp and ran the instal again and it took about 4 minutes to fully install. If you can let us know what system you have maybe some of the guys can help more
Guest saverio Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 everyone, just a word of caution; As the documentation clearly states, make sure the battery is charged and that your cable is connected to the PC itself - i.e. preferably at the back directly on the motherbard. If the installation freezes - such as on the 5th file, or if the power goes out don't worry! When you reboot your pc, the phone won't be recognized by activesync, however... in the samsung installer there will be a new option : select the tick box on this, and it will ask you to do a soft reset on the phone. It will then restart the installation. When finished the Omnia and Vodafone splash screen are still there, and also opera will have defaulted to Vodafone live as a start page. hope this helps.
Guest jigger13 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 im using windows xp i do have my data cable plugged in to the front of my pc tower using a sub splittter as i have alot of other data cables ect that i use... should i plug it directly into the front and disconnect evrything else.. ive never had a problem before i.e flashing my n95 and download items to my ipod.... i did download the updater and unistall it twice before as after i connected the device and you have to tick the 2 boxes it restarted my omnia but then nothing on the 3rd try it started to donload then stopped at 13% i left it for an hour then though it shouldnt take that long in disconnected it.... like i said previously kinda nervous about doing it again after reading some horror stories about it but ,,, i do think it would greatly improve my phone .... hmm what to do
Guest jigger13 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 tried it again with a full charge took out some of the other usb cables... i only have to usb slots on the front of my pc.... one which is connected to the hardwired broadband and the other the wireless mouse uses so i do kinda have to keep the usb splitter in... it got to the 13% again and stopped i just unpluged it and did a soft reset it seems to be working ok,,,, just dont no what to do... could it be possibly a bad link that i used to download the updater? i still have my sim card in the phone does that make a difference? the vodafone eforum says that if its from samsung and things to go wrong it would be coverd under there warranty but to be honest who wants to wait weeks to get the phone back if it does go wrong.. quite a pickle indeed B)

Guest mattlow93 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 :/ Was upgrading my Voda Omnia to DXHJ1, and it stopped at 16%. Unplugged it, now no life in the thing at all. I'm guessing that my next move should be to send it off to Samsung?
