Omnia + Linksys WAP54g + WPA - key renewal problem

Hello!

I have a question to everyone.

My omnia connects to my access point (Linksys wap54g) without any problem (WEP/WPA/WPA2) but the WiFi connection stalls after some time (have to disconnect it and connect again).

I made some investigation and it seems that Omnia hangs when the time for TKIP/AES (no matter) key renewal comes.

I've tried different ROMs but the problem is on all of them (currently I use Passoa's Manila2d 03 Rom).

My temporary resolution for this issue is that I've changed key renewal time on Access Point to be very long (3 days) and now Omnia works OK.

I'm really confused - is it hardware problem of my omnia, software one or just Omnia doesn't like my AP...

I have the same AP (Linksys WAP54g hw1.0 fw3.04) and I experience exactly the same problem with my Samsung Omnia f/w PUHJ2 (key renewal -> no wifi).

I could "fix" the problem by installing SocketCom WiFi Companion but this software does not work reliably with suspend power. I am going to get me another WiFi AP in hope that Samsung could not release i900 without any WiFi testing.

Another interesting thing I noticed is a ping delay. I setup "ping -t" to i900 and I found out that ping delays were about 200ms (and unstable). With SocketCom WiFi Companion installed ping delay is only 2 ms (stable)!

Also i900 seems to receive WiFi signal very poory. GSM is of poor quality too (i900 loses network where Nokia 6067 works fine).

Why does Microsoft allow installing their good OS on such crappy hardware?!
