HTC Touch HD - Forgotten Password, NO IMAGE FILE

I got my HTC Touch HD yesterday. I was asked to setup an alpha-numeric password and i set it up. When the device rebooted [because YouTube crashed], i was asked to enter the password. I entered the same password and it fails. I tried hard reset, but i get the error "No Image File" in the tri-color.

I tried downloading and installing a ROM flash BUT activesync does NOT work when device is locked.

How do i unlock the password and get into the device now?

Remove the SD card and try another Hard Reset.

If that doesn't work try re-flashing the ROM from the Bootloader screen.
