Does anyone else experience the "crap" camera from the omnia?! In bright sunlight it's no problem! But in my room if i wanna take a picture.. i can't move the camera else it becomes blurry because of the slow fps.. (don't know how to explain it.... ) But in "sport" mode it's all super fast and clear! But can't turn on flash and other mode's ...

And it doesn't "save" my settings like contrast, sharpness .. etc.

Same is if i record a video .. i just have to pray if i recorded it okay.. because the screen isn't much help!?

YES!!! I think the camera sucks ass too!!! No optical zoom is a deal breaker for me. And indoors shots with the flash on get totally washed out. And the antishake feature is worthless too!! If you're not dead still, the shot will get blurry. Sports mode doesn't really cut it for me because, while it's really fast like you mentioned, the image becomes a bit grainy. And I'm always using the highest resolution.

Worst of all, some review sites hail it as the best camera on a phone today. I have an old (2003) 5MP Cannon Powershot which runs circles around it.

As it is, as much as I hate to admit it, I still carry a separate camera with me when I go somewhere worth of taking decent pics.

To be honoust my SPV_C500 compared to the i900 camera... the i900 loose in my eyes.. because it so slooww! While C500 is old and performs more?! .. Not in resolution, but in non blurry/washed out!

Indeed sports mode isn't the best, but the smoothest !

I totally agree, the Omnia camera sucks. My old N95 was way better. You practicaly have to freeze to take a good picture, otherwise all will be out of focus.

Isn“t there a software or something that can use the camera?! Because i believe that the samsung software is causing that the photo's suck!

And btw .. the camera on front? Right-Top

I agree 100%. Omnia camera is OVERRATED. Its 5MP. Yes.. but its horrible. I think its one of the most useless cameras ive ever used. At night, its really bad. Indoors too. My friend's HTC which is of 3MP produces better images. I still love my Omnia tho~ Its sexy.

Interesting but the translation is poor, does that code factory reset the whole phone?

The first code mentioned in that forum performs a full hard reset, so it will delete all data on the hard drive.

If you try that one then make a backup first.

This code on the other hand: * # 2470 #

Will only update the camera and will not reset the whole phone.

I am fully agree with you friends, omnia's camera is so poor even it has 5 mp capacity, the pictures are so bad.

Me and all my frineds own omnia have been complaining about this camera issue, we wrtie lots of emails to samsung, maybe they can make a firmware updae for camera or maybe a new rom that controlsthe camera better, but for now, there is no solution.

Have a nice day

I couldn't make much out of the other site either, but I was wondering if this code would have any affect on a VZW i910 Omnia. I would love to improve the camera in any way possible, but withoug knowing what this code will do, I don't know if these changes have been made already in mine, or if it would even work on the i910 released after the i900's!!

Any info greatly appreciated...thanks!!!!

actually the camera takes good pictures in daylight

and with the right settings it will take good pictures indoors too.

the first thing you have to do is set the camera to manual (SCN)

then change white balance to flourescent or tungsten.

changing iso to 200 or 400 helps with the blur effect

you should also increase contrast and saturation tp +1 to +3 depending on the indoor environment

try these steps and i think you will find the camera to be quite good with indoor shots

cheers

i tried sport and it is way faster when in low ight condition

i tried the flash and it works great in this setting to.

the blurr only starts when the ccd is slow due to low light

in sport this is gone

try it.
