Guest spider Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Hi There, I wonder if any of you have ever tried the application named Guard Mobile (GM) from MASPware. What was you experience? Did it work as intended? The reason for asking is due to the fact that I have installed it, but can’t get it to work. Here is the fact: Installation goes fine. Use of the software goes fine (I can enter codes, pin codes, phone numbers, sent status messages etc) However after I “activate” the application and try to send a SMS command from another phone (which is “approved” by GM and using the correct pin and command etc) nothing happens when the SMS message is received by the phone were GM is installed. Usually the phone should monitor the SMS inbox and react to the incoming command, but I don’t think it does this (monitoring) correctly. At least nothing is happening (apart from receiving the SMS in my SMS inbox) I have been in close contact with MASPware and they have provided me with an excellent support…only they are not able to solve the problem. I have even been beta testing the sw for them, as they thought that they had solved the problem but unfortunately without any luck…and now they have more or less given up B) They told me that the sw works on all the PPC that they have tested (HTC etc) but unfortunately they don’t have my device which is the HP 614c to test on. So now I wonder if any of you have tried the application and if it did work on your device. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your help B)

In fact I just got a loan HTC Diamond on which I want to try it out as well. If it does work (and it seems so with your unit) I am really out of suggestions about what the problem could be for why it is not working on my HP. Anyway I will try to see if I am doing something wrong when using it on the HTC device, but if not then I am not sure what to do afterwards... In any event, I will keep you update and thanks for your input :( Edited February 22, 2009 by spider

In any event, I will keep you update and thanks for your input :P My dear friend Spider :P, Looking around on the MASPware site, I've found out they have 2 versions available. One for Touchscreenzzz (like our 614c :D ) and one for Keyboarddevicezzz (like our 614c B) ) .... So, I'm persuaded that the combination, as it happens to be on our 614c, is causing the program to be confused :( Maybe you should try the other version, the one for NON-touchscreenzzz.... :D Dirk

Guest spider Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Hi, It's me again :P If you must know, I can't find the link neither ( B) and i don't drink). The only mentioning about different versions that I found back is here . Maybe time to get some email-support ? :P , Dirk Hi Dirk my trusted friend :D I see what you mean. However I don’t think they have any non touch screen version for their software at all. Anyways; regarding the support from MASPWARE; I have almost been spamming them with questions and ideas about how to find out what the problem could be, but still they haven’t been able to figure out what the problem could be. In fact they have been quite cooperative in this regards, though I could have wished that they had tried some of the suggestions I had given them. Further to that I have been provided with beta releases etc from them in order to see if that would solve some of the encountered problems, but until now it has not worked on the 614 (some bonus info: I have in fact translated the software into Danish for them, however they have not been very good in providing me with the later versions of the sw in order for me to translate it so that it would be fully translated before new releases :( …anyway I guess I will have to talk with them about that subject)… SO…my next step is to test it on my HTC loan unit (as described above) and see the result…if it is good…then for sure we will know that there is a problem with the 614 and their sw…which is a shame…but they ought to know I think…
