touch player, bugs.. Please, it's a simple test. (Paul/Secany look here)

Hi all, i need your help on trying to find how to fix touch player, if possible.

Touch player really often skips/lags mp3s when i multitask where coreplayer does not but since pressing the power button coreplayer stops playing(unless i'm using ad2p), it does not suite me. I like touch player for its integration with the task switcher and finger friendly but skiping mp3 makes its useless. I know pocketplayer kinda works but just has media player, it makes the device lag (like when you are typing sms)

Download this mp3 (bellow link), open it with touch player and make this simple test. Press menu and properties and post here what happens.

If you have no problems please do tell which firmware version are you using.

It's a simple test, c'mon, please help on finding a solution for it. Any idea is welcome.

I have checked on DXHI2 and it also lags. But the file is really big with a farely high bitrate. I don't have these problems with smaler files.

i have bigger files (100-150mb) and a simple , menu - properties , does nothing. They work perfectly, i posted this one because a simple menu - properties and it lags ???? Coreplayer plays it like a charm and the cpu load shown on task manager is the same.

I really apreciate you testing it.

Guys, don't just see the topic, please make the test and post here feedback and ideas if you have them. I would like that paul or secany make the test themselves since they are pros and could have more ideas.

C'mon , guys, it's the only bad thing i can find on this device !!! I don't want to believe that it isn't capable of multitasking while playing music without using some external player :S

it's silly... it seams like some kind of buffer problem!

You are really giving too much thought into this aren't you? B)

Touch player is a very immature and primitive multimedia player, in a scale from 0 to 10 on reliability, iPod "in the iPhone" being 10, I will give this a mere 2 to 4 just to be fair, the only "and only!" good thing about it is its finger friendly and integration with the UI, however I have an MP3 collection of about 2000+ songs taking about 10GB space, when trying to "update" the library, its stuck, and never I was able to play the music or videos reliably, even until now "K1".

I gave up on it, hoping that it will be fixed with a couple of other remaining issues in the coming ROMs, then we can start concentrating on bugging Samsung on adding features in our Omnias B)

I agree with you and like you said ,i'm also hopping it will be fixed but for that to happen i'm trying to find if we all can help on finding some solution :S
