WiFi and 3G

Even when mu Omnia is tuned to a wifi connection, whenever I reach for my email manually, it makes the 3G/GPRS connect and start using it .

1- Am I missing something in configuration / settings ?

2- I am using DTHJ9 / M2D03 FIX .
