Im going to sell my old omnia and get the Us version, i wish the phone companies would do a better job of announcing which phones will come out when. If i knew a US version was coming out, i wouldve just waited!

dude, that was a great news. i bought mine few months ago, was happy with it but the lack of 3G was really bugging me. assume that the one in ur pic is the verizon version,right? if so, can u upload some screen shots of what kinda programs and GPS program?

C'on dude, mine is with Cingular's EDGE and it works out just fine for me, a few seconds slower don't mean much if I can enjoy some snacks. Google maps works fast and again what is the point of just a few seconds behind. The important thing is the 3rd party navigation sw works nice regardless of which network it is. Internet emails are again fine.

well for me, i watch youtube videos/streaming media which are painfully slow to load with edge. I also download files every now and then and that takes forever with edge as well.

But remember EDGE is fast enough and saves tons of battery life (mostly charge phone every other day unless using GPS and wifi extensively). B)

I think that the versizon one will be CDMA .. ? So this will be the I910.

I was hoping to see a GSM model in the US. The I900L hardware and firmware should work perfectly on AT&T's HSDPA/3G network. While I am impressed with the Edge Revision 10 speeds, I would still prefer HSUPA/HSDPA. Mainly for when I use my phone was a WIFI or when I use internet connection sharing for a direct connection to my laptop only.

I am also looking forward to getting my VZW Omnia i910 and also hoping that the GPS is not crippled!

Although I think that someone on these forums will be able to fix that issue if it happens!

Yes, thanks Aleis, these guys, and Secany the ROM GOD are the schnizzle! Yeah, I know that's a pretty crazy term. Not to get off track, but I was wondering, will the Omnia upload mobile pics directly to Facebook? I know the PDF said it will to Flickr. I just didn't know if we will have to go through the mobile facebook site or if there's actually an app for it. B)

the att version is the i900L i believe. not sure when its coming out.

i understand the ROM issue...but...SOMEONE has to know how to make one for our i910 out there B)

I don't think the 'unlocking' would help us because unlocking, unless I'm mistaken, refers to allowing the phone to be used with different providers who use the same network (ie GSMs can be unlocked from AT&T to be used on T-MooMoo, or Sprint to Verizon) but I don't think it means it would actually open up the features of the phone.

yeah, i thought the htcunlock.net site was for unlocking the sim cards. the gps will need to be unlocked with a rom or software hack if in fact the gps is locked down. they did not lock down the gps in the bb storm.

From what I can see this phone doesnt look like a front camera which would make it a different design. Also if your going to get this phone because you want 3G speed you can just wait for someone to unlock the 3G bands on the other models.
