Guest Rubber Ducky Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Hi, I recently received my 5th!!! Omnia and the frustration is still there. All of the Omnia's I got have dead/stuck pixels. It started with my first phone. It got only 2 (in the middle of the screen), but I returned my phone since I believe these pixels should not occur on new hardware. But all the other phones I received only got more dead/stuck pixels (I now have a phone with 5 stuck pixels in the top right corner, 2 stuck in the top left corner, 3 stuck and 1 dead pixel in the middle). Are there more people with this problem? I contacted Samsung about this problem but they haven't replied to my email yet (support sucks, they seem to be too busy all the time, YEAH RIGHT!!!). My Samsung is a Dutch T-Mobile branded phone (maybe it's operator related?). I'm starting to get a bit pissed since I have to go to the T-Mobile shop every time and Samsung is not responding. UPDATE: still no response from samsung. Edited November 26, 2008 by Rubber Ducky
Guest Frankish Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I just got mine and it has 2 or 3 in the top right corner. My girlfriends came fine though B)
Guest gravityz Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i have read somewheree that pixels die in the first minute you turn on the screen. after that you are save. maybee in your case the phone is either cold(from outside) or warm which could explain that you have so many dead pixels with different phones. savest is allways to start charging the phone and not turn it on the minute you get it. after it is fully charges turn it on. this way the phone can warm up and settle. this goes for every electronic equipment you have. Guest eduuuuu Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 blue spot on the center, would be it?... i900 came from Singapore.
Guest jhickey Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) I know this is a several month old topic, but I figured it was better to revive this than to create an entirely new topic... Anyway, I too have been suffering from many dead pixels. Around four replacement i910's have been sent to me by Verizon, and each of them have had 6+ dead pixels on the screen. It's extremely frustrating going through this process over and over again when this shouldn't be happening. I've never had this occur on any other device that I've purchased. Once my next replacement phone arrives, and if it has the same problems, should I make a call into Samsung instead of Verizon? So far, Verizon has done nothing but send me more phones with defective screens. EDIT: I decided to make a call into Samsung anyway. All they offered was to send it in for a repair (that takes 15-20 days). I can't go 15-20 days without my phone. It's completely ridiculous that they even offer that without sending a replacement to you. Because I refused that, she took my information and said that if anyone else calls in with these problems that it will be used to fix them, but she also said that it was the first time she has heard of this happening, so the chances of Samsung doing anything about it are slim to none...I don't know what else to do, really. Guest oogravyoo Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I've got 3 dead pixels on my screen that are only noticeable when the screen is full white.. they are towards the corners.
Guest jhickey Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Mine are scattered all over the screen, but they are particularly noticeable when the screen is black. Why is it that this device has this persistent flaw?
Guest lostandfound Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I have had a hell with my Omnia. Dead pixels when opening the box. Got no replacement but repair. After month again dead pixels, 2. Again repair, came back from repair with dead pixels. Returned in repair and came back again with dead pixels. Everytime they replaced the screen. All the time I had contact with customer care and they promised that after the third repair if it wouldn't be ok they would give me my money back. but o no, the lyers, after third repair they refused and wanted again a repair. So I brought it with VIDEP repair in Belgium, before always to Dynafix. There they replaced the screen again but called me that the new screen had again the same problem. So finally I got a cashback. I have to mention that Dynafix told me that if I was able to get a cashback not to buy the same again I think that says enough. I had the phone for almost six months and only was able to use it for one. So lesson learned: I will NEVER buy something from Samsung again! :excl:
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I`m starting to think that the problem with the dead pixels isn`t because of the screen... Maybe something with the lens cable which is f*cking them up because a lot of people with dead pixels say that they have changed their screen and again have dead pixels, whereas many of us(thank god) without dead pixels change the screen and nothing :excl:
