Guest Mig-L - Bell Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Hi.. Is there anyway to recive files directly to the Storage and not to My Documents, Temp included...? Cheers
Guest mkc_vx Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Lucky you there is a solution for THAT. An app called Obex InboxEx you get it from here: http://freewareppc.com/communication/obexinboxex.shtml Don't forget to read the description cause it tells you how to use it. For peeps in a hurry: Get it from http://rapidshare.com/files/133710502/hc4_inbox.cab And after installing the cab file on main memory go to: Start -> Settings -> Connections -> OBEX Inbox to choose where you want to recieve files. Guest Mig-L - Bell Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I've installed it and it works.. But it the ''Connections'' there is no ''OBEX Inbox''... It created the FTP folder in the storage card, and works great... But I'd like to choose ''My Storage'' as the default.. Any ideas...? Thanks

I was testing it myself and I did not see its icon in Connections. So I talked to its programmer so he can look into it. It seems that this issue only happens with the Omnia. Using a registery editor go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/ObexInboxEx and change StorePath = \Storage Card\FTP to \My Storage\ I did it and it worked great B) The author made a new version that supports more languages including portugese. I put it in the attachement for you. NOTE: while at it Those who are wondering what OBEX is CAN read about it there -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OBEX Best Regardshc4_inbox_signed_0.947.cab Edited November 24, 2008 by mkc_vx

Guest mkc_vx Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Seems like there is an easier way of changing the BlueTooth Directory which is: Menu -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Bluetooth -> FTP Protocol Tab click on [...] to browse available folders then choose one \My Storage in our case then click OK. Voila

VoilaYes it does work, but i've tested it, and the Temp file is still in the Main Memory, while with the other app the Temp is also My Storage... Thanks any way... B)
Guest iluvomnia Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 it can't work, it keeps saying sending failed and even though on the phone it says that i receive the file, i did not. And after uninstalling the program, i cannot receive files normally.

And after uninstalling the program, i cannot receive files normally. The reason it does that I presume is because you do not have an External Memory Card. Try this fix: Menu -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Bluetooth -> FTP Protocol Tab click on [...] to browse available folders then choose one \My Storage then click OK. Hope that helps Edited November 25, 2008 by mkc_vx
Guest mkc_vx Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) Someone nicked chuckbert from xda-developers forum is talking about an OBEX In Box fix by making a shortcut of the file \windows\obexinbxex.cpl then using that shortcut to configure it. Here is how to do it: Start ActiveSync click on Explore then click on My Windows Mobile-Based Device then click on \Windows on the computer keyboard press the O key and keep pressing it until you land on a file called obexinbxex.cpl Then Right click on it then click on Create ShortCut. Now Scroll down to the end and you will find the shortcut there now rename it to ObexInBox then right click on it then CUT Then Navigate to \Windows\start menu and paste it there. Now it is in the start menu of your Omnia click it to configure ObexInBox B) Or if you are too lazy just use the attached files unzip it then copy it with ActivSync to \Windows\start menu RegardsObexINBox.zip Edited November 25, 2008 by mkc_vx
