Need help setting up active sync with my PC that runs Linux ubuntu. I have thrown out my Windows XP/Vista.

Is it anybody here that runs the same os and have set up the sync apps?

Will it not install in crossover or wine?

Haven't tried it myself, kept XP as dual boot on just for these occasions

I tried it several times before (now using Ubuntu 8.10), never had success...but now I don't need it any more, found good solutions for every function of activesync. Maybe I'll try again for testing purposes B)

Well, I'm using linux since a long time, Gentoo Linux. The Linux solution is SynCE (http://www.synce.org), but it is quite limited, so I have given it up.

What I use right now depends on the kind of use I do:

- For transferring files (and to install .CAB files) I set Omnia to mass storage.

- For email, contacts and agenda synchronization, I use mail2web that I fully recommend.

- For installing .EXE files... I use my work's laptop. But you can also use VMWare.

Wine won't work.

Hope it helps.

Ok.. Best way must be using the computer at work then.. Thats what i thought. Wine is good but it wont work on everything. The best thing is not to use any windows apps!!

Thanx for your time anyway!
