Guest vincentvan Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I'm new to this awsome forum and to win mobile devices (years of Nokia N95s and symbian) but now I got myself a Samsung Omnia and I must say that I quite like it and that I have been miracoulously spared the problems that afflicted the Omnias of other members. Beside the unforgivable voice dialing trouble that I hope I will be able to solve with MS voice command (and maybe some of your kind help) the only trouble that my omnia has given me is with the dedicated CAMERA BUTTON The camera works fine if I access it from the menu or the today screen, but if I press the " dedicated camera button" for a short time insted of the photo album I get into the "album art" album of the music player ; and if I keep it pressed a bit longer, insted of accessig the camera I get the following notice: " Error operating the shortcut or locating the target filename" Can you figure why it does that to me? Is there an easy fix for it? Anybody who will help me with this issue will be forever remembered in my bedtime prayers.
Guest acvahl Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Check Start-Settings-Buttons. Here you can see what programs are linked to each button. There is a button for Camera and Camera long (or something like this, I have only Dutch language). Here you can change the program that must be started by pushing the different buttons on the phone. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps. You are a genius. I mean, the default setting were correct for the functions, but then (just to try) I changed them to something else and then set them back to what they were, I rebooted and the problem was fixed. I think I love you man.

I had mine set to access it with the short press of the camera key but get this error. Is there a registry edit to fix this?
