Storage gain after program uninstall?

Why is it that when I for example uninstall 10mb program, I gain only about 2mb space back? I've tried memmaid etc. Is there a program which removes those junk files which are left in my omnia?

If you use memmaid, you should try the advanced clean option to suppress temporary files. Maybe you have "lost" files for other reasons?

Anyway, I will tell you how Ï install (try) programs: I back up the system with Sprite Backup, I install the program and if I don't need it anymore I restore the previous backup.

For me there is another reason for doing this, not just storage: a Windows application modifies the registry, and trying many different applications without restoring a clean system may produce a junk registry file that will make your omnia run slower. Think what happens with Windows on a PC after one year of usage (even if with Windows hard disk fragmentation impacts the performance, the registry has also an important impact).
