Guest FireyRei Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Hi all, I tried searching but the Search function doesn't work. Anyway, I am thinking of buying an i900, and one big reason is to listen to music via a Bluetooth headset, in stereo - which the iPhone does not offer. Question: How does the i900 handle music transfers to the i900? Currently I use iTunes to my iPod, but how about the i900? Does it have its own specific music application? Also, what about file types? MP3, Wav. etc, which can I and can I not use? Many thanks for any help!
Guest FireyRei Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 So no-one here uses or has played music or transfered music files to their Omnia from their PC?
Guest vincentvan Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 So no-one here uses or has played music or transfered music files to their Omnia from their PC? Yes,the Omnia has none of the limitations and hassles of the iPhone. You just connect the phone to a PC via USB or BT, or you just put the sd card in the pc, and copy and paste any file you want, music video photo , no probs. you can even transfer music or other media directly from win media player to the Omnia or to the card. It can't be easier. You don't need to buy anything from anybody: any media you got on your win pc will play on the Omnia's win mobile OS, or at least this is my experience as I did'nt experiment with the most exotic file types. Anyway, if is media playback you want from your phone with the Omnia you can't go wrong. The only issue with it is the voice dialling BS which hopefully will soon be solved.

What is the deal with downloading and extracting media direct to the Omnia's media player? I buy quite a lot of mp3s from zunior, so could I download .zip files onto my Omnia, extract them and import them to the phone's media library without having to sync to my laptop first? I'm thinking of getting an Omnia - being able to do this would prob swing it for me... Apologies if I've missed a similar topic in this forum!

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, however from what I do comprehend, you want to download mp3's from a website in .zip format, extract the zip file and be able to play the song all from within the phone, without having to use a laptop or computer etc at all. Well the phone supports .zip files by default unless i'm mistaken, but in any case there certainly are free programs you can download to do that. So yes you could extract them unto the phone ( you would have 8 or 16 GB to play with B) ) and then copy to your music folder and they should play fine. The only stumbling block I would see here is the downloading the .zip file from the website part. I'm not familiar with zunior, so i'm not sure if you'd be able to buy and download from a mobile device, or how comfortable it would be to do so. Hope that helped a bit. finaldestiny

I know there's an extraction app available - I'm not so sure about the buying/downloading parts: are there any threads on this subject? Cheers
