Guest couzo Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I am looking to get a good backup program for my Omnia so I cna tinker with it and if needed restore it. I hear Sprite backup is the way to go and plan on becoming a plus member here to get it. However I have just seen this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/815357 Does this do the same thing sprite does? Many thanks

Sprite/resco/SPB work differently to activesync. They take a snapshot of your pda and allow you to go back to that state at any time. Like a ghost image on your pc. In addition you can get them to schedule backups for 4am in the morning. So you'll never be without one. Activesync will backup your contacts and some of your data, but it can take hours/days to get back the way you were. With Sprite/SPB i can go from hard reset to fully working phone in 3 mins! B) I've used sprite and got good results, I'm now using SPB and am happy with that. never used resco btw... I think the activesync backup options only work on pre wm5 devices Edited November 27, 2008 by psionandy
Guest couzo Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I see, just tried Resco and i did a hard reset to test out the restore function and it crashes and i have to soft reset. Will try out sprite next i think as that is not what i want hehe
