Hi everyone I'm new in this forum, and I just bought a Omnia i900 (3 weeks ago), and I've been looking for ways to make it better, doing some web research I found out that this is in my opinion the best forum about the Omnia i900 that I can think of so, getting to the point this is my omnia version:

PDA: i900XJHI3/XJHH2

PHONE: i900BUHG5

The question is: Can I update my firmware for the latest one (DXHK1 I think this is the latest) or will I have some troubles with the language or anything else, I'm from Chile South AMerica by the way, I don´t care if the firmware is in english, It would be awsome if there's one in spanish.

I´ve been trying to download the firmware upgrades from the UK support page but it keeps asking me about the version of my phone and when I enter the one abobe it gives me an error that this is not the version or something else.

The second thing is that I'm looking for some PPPOE client that runs on the omnia beacause I need to connect to the internet trough a PPOE type of connection that needs a username and pass, so please let me know where can I download this type of app that works with the omnia or with the windows mobile.

Thank you very much guys for the future help.

the search function will yield all the hk1 info you need

to connect to the internet you will need either a data plan from your provider (and the relevant settings) or use the wifi to connect to some network and then from there to the outside.

Ok thank you for the info but is not enough because there's no information regarding my ROM version so I'm still kinda blank, and for the internet, yes I can connect with the WIFI to an acces point but in that case I just need the pass for the point nothing else but here I need to make a PPPOE type of connection, that will let me to browse trough the web , if I don't do that kind og connection the message is tha same, that the network has limited or no connectivity.

Thank you all again.

There are probably 100's of different ROM versions so it is not going to be possible to get any sort of information about most of them. Though it is possible that roms with the same last 3 letters/digits ie HH1, HK1, etc may all be quite similar. Perhaps you can check that aspect to see how those compare to the one you have.

As for net connection - a ppc does not have an ethernet port so it can only connect to the internet (or any network) indirectly. So your options are either to use a data plan from you cell provider (ie Edge, GPRS, 3G etc). Or connect to a router over wifi.

Have a look at Secany's rom thread

http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-r...read-new-dthj9/

He lists Spanish non-branded rom HJ2, so newer rom than yours. You can dwonload it from there.

Have fun.

Ok great thanks for the info about the ROM in Spanish, and also for the PPPOE connection, the thing was that I didn't want to spend money to buy a new router, anyway thanks again for all.

One last question can I change the language on the ROM from Spanish to English?? and if I can how can I do it ??

Much thanks.
