Guest snap156 Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Hi All, Since ive had my Omnia ive not been able to see on my screen the display which indicates your closest or the tower that currently recieves the MOB signal. I had the same problem on my previous MOB , it was the O2 Xphone II running windows 2003... to get that phone to display the nearest tower, i had to manually add the codes in the network settings somewhere, but on my Omnia, i cannot find where to do it or even if it can be done. Anyone got this working , if you have , can you advise how you did it. Oh btw, in in Australia so if you know what the setting are can you please pass them on. Cheers Joe

Cheers Joe Try this under Settings, Phone, More, CB Message. Enable it and you will be prompted with text messages whenever you are closest to any tower. Quite annoying because the location will be in text message instead of displaying at the today screen. Probably someone here know how to display the tower message to today screen.
Guest lastnikita Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 hs++ can display the broadcast message on today, dunno if it's the same
Guest Ingvarr Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Full PhoneAlarm (not free) version can display the tower ID on any network (broadcast messages as above will work only on some networks that support them).
Guest snap156 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I tried this location, Settings, Phone, More, CB Message, retrieved the settings and it promps me to select language......and there is a channel ID, what channel does the tower use for the location, im with Singtel/Optus in Australia.. Cheers Joe
Guest snap156 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I have added channel 050 in extra channels... A few hours later, I have recieved no text message or info displayed on the screen...maybe its the wrong channel....I still have my Xphone, ill look at the channels there and try again... Joe
Guest Ingvarr Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Channel 50 is not supported that often, really, only by few carriers.
