Guest bugless Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Hi guys, I have in the past owned many symbian phones and more recently an LG KU990 viewty. All have been quite customisable to varying degrees and I love this because it means if you don't like something you can probably find a fix for it. I would keep my viewty but it does not play nice with my car kit (alfa romeo blue & me - windows based) so I figured an omnia would be a good replacement that should sync up easily with another windows based device. From what I have gleaned from this forum, it seems custom roms can be installed on the omnia. What do these do? Do they replace the touchwiz UI? I am assuming that there must be thousands of winmo apps around, but are there many that support touchscreen? Anyway I have many more questions but really I would like someone to point me in the right direction and I can journey on by myself. So if you guys know of any good intros to winmo and intros to omnia modding thaat would be great. Thanks in advance for your advice and help. Cheers.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Welcome to the site B) You are correct in saying there are thousands of applications available, they mainly get listed as Pocket PC but Microsoft have now decided touchscreen phones Windows Mobile professional. Custom ROMs add or remove features and some fix annoying bugs that the network operator let slip in when they make their own version. The Omnia i900 can be found in the Samsung section of the site, ther are many posts regarding ROMs and flashing so a it would be the best place to start on the site.
