Guest jontelfer Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Hi all, What are peoples experiences with getting their phones talking/syncing with linux (specifically fedora 10)? I got close last time with synce so I could browse the phone in the terminal but rapi never worked for me. Is it worth it? Has anyone found a good howto? Thanks, Jon

Thanks, Jon i have managed to get my Kaiser to sync with evolution on Ubuntu 8.10 using opensync. theres a howto on the unbuntuforums.com site and also the syncce site. http://www.synce.org/moin/SynceInstallation/Fedora
Guest n1ck75 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Managed to sync to my Xubuntu with polaris, kaiser and touch into Evolution using the following: http://surajram.eu.org/2008/06/30/sync-windows-mobile-with-linux/ i also recommend using 'Dolphin' file manager with the plugin kio-rapip, its gives you the ability to 'browse' your phone when its attached via usb using: rapip://your phone name
Guest jontelfer Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Looks like two votes for ubuntu...I'm running fedora and I seem to stall with some kind of security message - either selinux or iptables I guess. I try every once in a while but eventually give up. Maybe I'll have another look. Mandriva also seems to be quite phone friendly - according to linux format this month.
