Guest syrguy1969 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) One thing a bunch of us have noticed with the Omnia is that on the calibration screen, unlike others, you need to not only tap the '+', but hold it for a bit....try again, holding each '+' for about 5-8 seconds, and see if that helps!! Guest martin1234 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 thanks mate i will try tomorow
Guest CanonKen Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 And do it with the stylus not your finger
Guest StarVision Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 when u tap the + , u should place ur stylus a bit slanted and press hard
Guest Colin Quek Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 I've finally got my Omnia calibrated and working (as in the touchscreen is accurate) Using an ordinary toothpick, the kind where both ends are sharp. I took a slightly top down view of the screen and calibrated it by PRESSING AND HOLDING the toothpick into the middle of each Cross. One round of calibration <_< Wish i had discovered this earlier as the touchscreen's accuracy sux. Sensitivity is ok.
Guest Queensagara Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) I'm having pretty much the exact same problem as martin1234, I've been having issues with calibrating my screen for a while, so I decided to do a hard reset on my device. But now I can't get past that stupid calibration screen, so my Omnia is totally useless now. I've tried using a toothpick and pressing down on the "+" for about 5 seconds and I've tried soft reset but nothing is working. Any ideas what I should do? Edited August 15, 2009 by Queensagara

Any ideas what I should do? get an external reg editor like: CeRegit (it is free) http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ when u connect via activesync, open the regeditor and browse to this path [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Welcome] . change the dword value to below. this will disable the welcome screen. wait 30 seconds and reboot. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Welcome] "Disable"=dword:000000FF or Turn the phone off connect with the USB cable to the pc turn the phone on now the phone is connected through active sync on your pc ! - make a new text document (empty),save it with name - welcome.not (not welcome.txt , .NOT) save it! now copy the new file to your omnia main memory ! disconnect the cable reset the phone ! READY
