Hi,

I have a problem playing .avi files on my omnia. It doesn't play .avi files in windows media player. Do anyone know the reason? Should I convert them to wmv?

AVIs come in different codecs like Xvid/Divx and H.264 ..etc plz read more -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVI

use G-Spot on your PC to know what codec is the AVI -> http://www.free-codecs.com/download/GSpot.htm

I think th Touch Player can play AVIs but not the ones with H.264 codec.

Try TCPMP with plugins

But is there a free decoder that enables you to view a video in a 400x240 resolution for omnia?

if by decoder you mean player then core player is the best, and if you mean ENcoder to convert files on your PC then i recommend Handbrake, free and easy to use

I also had this problem.

I downloaded divx converter .

And now I convert my avi movies to divx and my omnia plays the movies now
