Guest gravityz Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 we all know that we need to use other nmea gps my question is does anybody knows what settings tomtom uses for the internal gps selection. eg if we know this we might adjust some registry settings so it will accept internal gps instead of other nmea. com port and baudrate can be adjusted in registry. also the immediate driver name can be adjusted. since the internal gps seting is in tomtom since release 5 i think it also might be the case that we need an extra gps driver like in the old days.
Guest Compuse Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Doesn't matter it tries receiving the correct information, but it aint working with Tomtom (standaard com3 will work, .. a bit) I'm using GpsGate to convert the signal coming from com3 towards a virtual com port that Tomtom can "translate" then Nmea on baud 4800 to 58k will all work as long as you picked the Virtual comport X Franson!
Guest gravityz Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 i know but that was not the question. the question is how to modify the reggistry so it will recognise the internal gps setting. this gives us some idea on how tomtom accesses the internal gps Com port level intermediate driver level extra 'tomtom proprietary" driver. i know tomtom7 was designed for the htc diamond but even on that device they have problems with the gps and that one is using the intermediate driver or the com port Doesn't matter it tries receiving the correct information, but it aint working with Tomtom (standaard com3 will work, .. a bit) I'm using GpsGate to convert the signal coming from com3 towards a virtual com port that Tomtom can "translate" then Nmea on baud 4800 to 58k will all work as long as you picked the Virtual comport X Franson!
