omnia i900 compatibility with hong kong 3G

i have an i900 omnia that i bought in the UK

unable to access internet in hong kong kong using hong kong SIM card

any ideas? do I need to get the phone changed in some way?

in hk 3g means video calling

if your sim card does not have a data plan component then u will not get internet access.

best bet - go to the shop where you got the card and ask them

alternatively, you could subscribe to a city-wide wifi plan

I translate from some chinese post for you.....all the below keywords may difference on your phone showing...

1. restart your i900

2. it will ask you to set the service provider automatically? Ans: No

3. after that, it will show a list of service provider for you

4. at this moment, press the reset button(soft reset)

5. after the i900 restart, go inside the connections for setting

6. connection name:

7. choose modem: mobile phone connection network(gprs)

8. APN:

--PCCW

Name: PCCW GPRS

APN: pccw

--3HK

Name: 3HK GPRS

APN: mobile.three.com.hk
