Firstly - I have to admit that I am a fan of S2U2. It is a really nice program and the programmer A_C gives great supporrt to all of his freeware packages! I have used S2U2 on my previous device and loved the instantanious overview of your information (time, appointments, unread emails, SMS and weather). Also the replacement for the volume control is much nicer and easier to use.

On the omnia there are a range of interactions which put me off using it:

• no sound on Touch Player with screen off
  
• SmartReader wont work with
  
• occassional loss of sound which needs a reboot
  
• occassional freezing of device
  

Given that there are a heap of people who are still using this S2U2 on their omnia, i was hoping to find out what your set up is and how you are fixing these problems? (or are you just living with them!)

I'm using an older version but it should be the same. To enable background playback, I have these settings enabled...

Blank Screen Only

Don't Suspend Power

I've noticed a problem with S2U2 V1.35 on my Omnia...

Every time after using the camera the system freezes as soon as S2U2 kicks in (either manually or via power button). When switching back to v1.33 the problem is gone! Only way out is a soft reset.

I'm on rom HK2 (V4 Lite version from PdaViet) since around a week.

I'm not sure it's related to the rom. Samsung have improved the camera software (pictures quality has improved). I'm not sure if I upgraded S2U2 to v1.35 at same time I upgraded rom (sorry, unfortunately I don't have time to spend 2 evenings to reload an old rom - see if it works ok - and then switch back to HK2 if it doesn't).

So either it's rom related or S2U2 related.

If people on other Omnia roms have same issue it has something to do with S2U2. Can other people check and confirm?

And to get back to topic here:

You need to manage Su2u settings. Replace Directdraw by Rawbuffer and everything will be ok. B)

I am also using S2U2 and not having any problems, have been using this program on previous phones that i had and has become a must have application.

I have set it to activate when I press the power on and off button and have also installed the new S2P version which is fantastic, I have set it that whenever I switch on my stereo bluetooth headset, it auto starts and and plays the last track that I was listening to and switches off when I turn off the bluetooth off ( the setting are in S2U2). Also tracks can be managed even when S2U2 is running e.g. forward, previous repeat track, choose new directory etc.

The registry for S2U2 can also be added to add applications on the exceptions list so that S2U2 does not affect the programs placed there.

I am using S2U2 and Spam alert dialpad application and today I discovered a weird bug AND its solution! (I love it when I can figure out this s***)

Problem: Whenever I got a call, the Spam alert screen would show, but will NOT let me answer the phone (with neither the soft or hard buttons) I could press 'ignore' but that was it.

The solution? It turns out there was a conflict between the S2U2 'caller id' and Spam alert. The solution was to go to S2U2 settings and disable caller ID. Now when the phone gets a call, it unlocks and displays the Spam alert screen, and I can press the button to take the call.

Why are you using touch player? Why not S2P B) ?

s2P is a nice player - but it doesn't cope with large amounts of music. So when I put load my 8 gig of music into S2P - the cover flow will seize up after loading half the music. A_C has just releae 0.58 of S2P, but this is still a known issue with the program Hopefully, 0.59 will solve this B)

I used to have this problem to but under S2U2 settings, try and turn Other: Dont call the running S2P when unlock to ON. I haven't had the problem since I changed this setting.

I've been using s2u2 for some time now and its great, i once had a little trouble with the caller id side of it because seemed to keep cutting my ringtone short te moment i touched my phone so i just disabled it instead, no great loss.

i tend to use my phone in landscape predominantly and for some reason yesterday after it crashed when i reset my phone, s2u2 displays all deformed as if it can't decide to be portrait or landscape!

this is an example, sometimes it is even worse, where everything is mixed up around the screen, it always functions correctly. i just hve to guess where the slider is sometimes! have done resets, uninstall, reinstall, registry clean etc but no solution.

anyone got any ideas for me?

set it to lock when backlight turns off and on wake up and then it activates when you tap the power button. (obviously you will need to tap it again to wake it up)

Im having problems with s2u2 1.35, I sometimes get no caller Id name just the number, it also randomly puts the spb now screen on top of itself while locked so i have to guess where to slide to unlock it, its a shame I really like the app, ive been putting up with the flaws til now but I might have to take it off.

And I have a problem with alarm. When alarms starts I can't dismiss it. When I touch the screen alarm snoozes and if I want to dismiss it I have to go into the samsung clock application and turn off alarm. Is it possible to setup some notification for alarm after I unlock phone, so I don't have to set it to off every time.

I am having the same problem. I can't get past it though, even with multiple slides with my finger. I love the S2U2 app and love the SPB skin, but right now I can't use either. Don't know if it's a S2U2 problem or SPB mobile shell.

Hey guys. i also have alot of problem with S2U2. it keeps freezing my phone. therefore i came across S2U Professional. It is more or less the same concept. Try it. I have no problems with this software. Both are great software but i believe perhaps S2U2 is not stable on our omnias.

Hi Carllie84 - what is the display mode in the Advanced part of the options? I had some similar problems (but not with SPB shell) with DirectDraw - but since I have changed to Raw Buffer it hasn't happened again.

On a separate problem - I have turned off the "Don't Use Keyboard Hook" which allows me to use the S2U2 volume control (much cooler that the windows default). But I am finding that now if I press the power button to switch off the device then I can wake it buy pressing the optical key - but if S2U2 turns off the power then I can only wake the device by pressing the power button. Has anyone else experienced this?

The only issue i have is with the volume control, if enabled i dont seem to get any ring tone and only vibration when phone is locked.
