I don't want to sound simplistic, but could you write out how your saving them, step-by-step? I am thinking there is something your doing along the line that is misdirecting the information.

Let's see if we can't get you going in the right direction!! B)

Perhaps we're getting to the root of this now...when you say 'install' i presume these are books that are in .exe/.cab format? :S If they are not, and are .pdf files for example, they can just be copied to the storage device and read using any pdf reader for windows mobile.

If it is in .exe/.cab though, you'll need to explain a bit more fully, like if you're starting the installation from your laptop or from your phone. It'd be a lot easier to provide us with an example book file that you're using though, or even a website where we can get a sample, if its legally possible of course. B)

Umm i hope you don't mind other people using your account registration for the skyscape because that was fairly dangerous posting that information on the forum for all to see. Unless of course its not important account info. Still, if you use that email address regularly you may be exposing it to SPAM so, maybe you should edit that post to remove that info.

I did try the program though, and running it through active sync does install an .exe in storage and all the other files on the device main storage ( when you select my storage as the installation point)

In any case I thought it was active sync's doing so i found the .cab file and installed it from my phone....with the same result.

So....then i took out all the main files that it installed on the device main storage and placed them in the my storage direction in the same folder as the .exe file and....it worked. So that go it to run off of the my storage completely, without needing the device main storage files.

BUT from your main post it seems that in addition to what the program offers, you can download additional files (books) to add to the library of content already available?

And it also seems to me (from your post) that this process (of adding extra content) has to be done through the desktop software supplied. In which case, i won't be able to help with your specific problem of book installation unless I understand further, or have a sample book to see how the installation of the books (additional content?) works when installed through the desktop software.
