Does the new A-GPS application improve GPS performance or does it just add more XTRA download options?

Really weird

when i replace the original file with the new one it still shows the old interface when i click on it.

i checked and the file is replaced(eg overwrite romfile)

old file was 28K, new one is 60k

i launch it by using reco explorer so i definately am launching the right file

when i launch it from temp i get the new version

anybody else has this(ys i did a soft reset)

Bump

there must be somebody with the same problem

if i rename the file to agps_xtra.exe in the windows directory the new inerface is launched

when copied over the old one(yes it is copied it is 60k) it will launch still the old interface.

Same problem here. Probaply you're not using an english ROM. The system keeps User Interface translation in another file which is called something like: "GPS_XTRA.exe.0407.mui". In there you are missing the additional labels used in the new software. Unfortunatelly, I couldn't deleted, nor move this file as it is in ROM.

yes i noticed that file(i am using the dutch rom)

you are right

when the file is called agps_xtra.exe i get the new user interface

when i copy gps_xtra.exe.0413.mui to agps_xtra.0413.exe i get the old interface

i overwrote the mui file with a fake text file

now it works.

where does this application come from?

i mean., will be in future roms or come from another device (such as htc?)

i think it's much better that the original one..

i didn't overwrite the original application, i just use it as a normal application witrh a link inthe start menu....

like the ability to know how old data is.

i set it to download dats when expired...i'll check if this works...

thanks.
