i910 unusual widget behavior

I have not seen this before this evening after 3 days of i910 ownership. Thought it was odd.

This gray, ghosted and non specific widget randomly appeared on my widget bar, kind of floating over my fm radio icon. I dragged it to the today screen and a red and white widget popped up. It read, "Emergency Mode Only?" When tapped, a dialog box would ask, "turn emergency mode on?", with yes and no buttons. The buttons pushed. There was no subsequent acknowledgment, regardless of the button pushed.

I couldn't drag it off to the widget bar. It would not move. I changed screen to phone then back to to today and it was gone.; no trace.

Something I haven't seen. anyone else seen this?

I have the same problem with my phone. It goes into emergency only mode and keeps giving me a message saying emergency calls only, however I am still able to make calls as I would normally. But I can't get the pop-up message to go away without a soft reset.
