ROM Update needed?

I got my phone from Vodafone yesterday and came with the following;

ROM Version: 1.37.161.2 WWE

ROM Date 06/26/08

Radio Version 1.00.25.03

Protocol Version: 52.26a.25.09U

Was thinking about flashing to TLR 3.08.07.16

Would this be an improvement over the current, sluggish ROM?

I believe there is a new ROM 1.97.161.4 just been posted on the Vodafone Business site for Diamond upgrades ... B)

what rom did u upgrade to finally?

i have the same specs as you posted and looking for the simplest way to get a decent rom on mine, i'm not a newbie to flashing roms but i am to this phone and dont really have the time to do all the background reading that i would normally do when i get a new phone. Im just looking for a relatively stock rom that works better than the one i've got whether its one of the ones from HTC, or one someone has cooked. i have the vodaphone rom but im on orange and the phone is unlocked.

TLR Diamond ROM 3.08.07.16 is the one i am leaning towards so far.

There are ALOT of custom cooked roms avalible for the diamond... mostly over at XDA-developers.

The TLR rom is fine but its slightly outdated now due to the 2.03 and 2.07 ROM bases.
