Questions from a possible new owner

Hi folks

I'm considering getting the omnia as my next phone (alos got the xperia and touch hd on shortlist) and have a few questions before I take the plunge.

1- How easy is it to remove sim lock and is it free?

2- I have a Parrot ck3100 car kit fitted, does the omnia work correctly with this kit?

3- Is there a case included in the box and if not can anyone recomend one?

4- Again, in the box is there an incar mount and charger, recomendations gratefully recieved?

5- Whats the performance of the camera like?

6- What's the battery like ( I normally have bluetooth and phone on, wifi once a day for an hour max but read lots of ebooks)?

7- Has anyone got mobireader installed and does it work correctly?

1. Not entirely sure. Flashing the phone with a new unlocked firmware should remove the sim-lock, but i've never tried it (my phone came unlocked by default) and something tells me it won't be so simple...

3. NO case included in the box (a shame)

5. Hit and miss performance, outside shots are fantastic, inside ones are ok depending on the setting, low light shots = DONT EVEN BOTHER. However its continuously being updated.

6. Battery is fairly okay once you utilize the standby feature when its not in use. I get about 4 days using bluetooth stereo music alot, wifi every now and again, several calls and lots of texts.

7. Have not tried. What types of files does it read .pdf? If so there are pdf readers available that i have tried and got working perfectly.

The mobipocket reader uses its own format called .prc

I've used it for years and all of my ebooks are in this format. I started using it as an alternative to ms reader and got hooked.

Regards to the camera - have there been firmware updates released to improve its performance?

Just downloaded it and tried on my omnia and it works fine. Some of the setting needed to be changed for it to be optimized for omnia usage though. Its a shame the program doesn't have a finger scrolling option (atleast i didn't see any) but tapping the screen to go to a new page works, full screen, landscape etc.

As for the camera, this gets updated from time to time with the firmware updates, which have been rolling out with new ones every 2 weeks or so, which improve performance in lots of different areas, not only the camera. So yes camera performance has been updated since the phone was released.
