Guest Master_Axe Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Hello people, I'm new here, as I just purchased my new phone- a Samsung Omnia. If there's any rituals, or thing you'd like me to fill out (i.e. some forums demand an avatar), just tell me, thanks! Now, let's cut to the chase. The Omnia has it's faults, and everyone puts weight on the ones that bug them the most, in my case, the music player. I have 9 GB of music, randomly put into ONE folder. Itunes has done me the favor of adding artist, title etc., hence I just have 'em in one folder. The touch player sucks at scrolling through artists' names, given the scrolling isn't hyper-speed... and it lacks a search function. The WMP doesn't play m4a, the codec Itunes uses for CDs. So I've set out for new players. S2P is good, however, it doesnt list the tracks by artists, unless I myself sorted them into folders, and lacks a search function as well! Kinoma Freeplay (v1.0) would work, if it wouldn't play a completely random OTHER track if i pressed one certain track. I found a kinoma player 4, but I'm too stupid to install it on the Omnia, or youre not supposed to. So... could anyone lend me a hand here, I'd be very grateful B) ! Thank's fellows, Franz
Guest Master_Axe Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Hey, if i asked a stupid question, or if its been asked b4, please do tell me! B)
Guest somedude Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 i guess you could try kdplayer? im not sure if it works for the omnia, but it lets you sort your music out by genre, artist, album, etc.
Guest Master_Axe Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Well, isn't there a "standard" player that everyone uses *instead* of the touch player? I can't imagine anyone actually using that? Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot!

Hey man, I have to admit to being a fan of Touch Player - I like the big buttons and the way it copes with a wide range of formats. It was improved significantly with the HK2 ROM, where Samsung have given us a useable album view (no longer does it take an hour to flick through to the right album). B) My other tip is to use Media Monkey to manage the transfer of music to your phone - its a free program and it will reorganise your music back into folders by artist>album as it move the files to your phone. pretty neat. Once you've done that you can easily switch between different music players.
Guest FREAKed Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 I can say without a doubt that kinoma play is the best, here is the preview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAWrEXnrvZg. I think nothing is needed to say. Btw, this video only shows how fluid it is, but if you instal it you will also find that it is so easy to use and has all the options you will ever need. I replaced core player with it, that's how good i think it is

Is there anything I can do in kinoma to correct the sequence?

Was having the same problem and it worked for me.

Just press the menu button, bottom right softkey and select it from the third tab.
