Guest phantomguy1 Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 I tried to install flashlite 3.1 and it didnt work at all. Has anyone had any success? As others have stated here and in other forums... flash 3.1 has to be baked into the rom for it to work correctly. Flash 2.1 must be uninstalled for you to install a new version. Just gotta wait until roms are made with this in it.

Guest phantomguy1 Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Hmm when I did the Manila 2D, it came with Opera and Flash 2.1 Manila 2d is not the OS on the phone. This is cooked into the OS.... thats why it wont work. HTC doesnt have that stuff cooked into the rom thats why they can do it..... they can do a lot that omnia owners cant.... such as install skyfire. Ive tried basically all the flash versions..... none work. It needs to be cooked into the rom in order for it to work. You have two options.... wait until a rom is made for the i910 or learn to cook a rom and be everybodys friend. Opera relies on flash 2.1 for the widgets... and opera is told to pull from flash 2.1 for flash content. This can only be changed by changing the rom to remove flash completely and install 3.1.

I am going to qualify this question by emphatically stating that I am new to this board and WinMo devices. When I go to some sites they say that it (the site) is supported/can be seen with Flash Lite 2.1. Some sites say “click here to download flash” but it is version 10 for a PC. I have not been able to find this illusive Flash 2.1 anywhere. The Verizon technician called Samsung for me and they had them install 3 different flash apps and none worked. I was supposed to get a follow up call today about it. Just to be clear, are you saying that there is no Flash Lite 2.1 available to download for the i910? Or it is, but an upgrade from Samsung is necessary first. ANY clarification on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest phantomguy1 Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 flash 2.1 is already installed onto the omnia but it only supports the widget and flash based content for mobile phones only. Flash 3.1 and flash 7 support mostly all flash content (ie youtube, hulu, myspace vids, etc) but it can only be installed with a rom that has it on it... and that can only happen with custom roms because of the licensing fees for flash 3.1 and flash 7+. The i910 version does not have custom roms available to it yet and wont until the upgrade comes out probably.
Guest vbrsekhar Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I bought omnia recently in which flash 2.1 is not installed. So I downloaded that software from web. I cant see any difference before and after install. My Rom is DXHJ1. Do you think flash 3.1 and flash 7 will be compatible with this ? I want to see youtube in my mobile, which I couldnt till now. Kindly help. Also does any one know, where I can get the TV out cable ? I am from New Zealand and I have seen enough ebay sites in differnt languages, which are hopeless. Finally, I would like to use a bluetooth software which is helpful in sending multi-files at a time to my pc instead of sending each file. Is there anything that would suite Omnia coz I tried BlueSoiel software and found useless. But it did worked perfectly for the NOkia Navigator mobile and few mobiles of mine in the past. Any suggestions are appreciable. Cheers Raj

Guest d1mitrov Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 OOOR, you can simply download Skyfire browser which comes with flashlite3.1 and enables you to watch vids on pretty much any site. Cheers!

Cheers! Or, get the YouTube player from YouTube. Simple as that. Hooks into flv files and plays fine especially when downloaded and played locally. This was the only way I found to play flv files with out a lot of manipulations. Just find it on YouTube and install it. Requires some minor tweaking in their interface to allow playback of downloaded flv files but it works just fine. S.
