So when you've downloaded it rename it to DiamondQVGA.tsk Michael Edited December 7, 2008 by Michael122w
Guest bmn4711 Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 how do you load?? Just copy the .tsk-file to your windows directory. Then go to Start - Settings - Today, where you can select the theme.
Guest invd Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Just copy the .tsk-file to your windows directory. Then go to Start - Settings - Today, where you can select the theme. I would suggest to copy it to My Documents, because the more files you have in windows the slower gets your device...just a little hint...
Guest Michael122w Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 any iphone themes ? Hey aka_katz, Windows Mobile theme packs (.tsk files) don't fully change the interface of the phone. They just adjust:the colours of the top and bottom barchange the text colourmenu colours andchange the background of the today screen.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432566. If you are after the iphone look - ie a simple home screen with big buttons to press, there are a range of ways you can achieve this. The easiest way is to a program called Iphonz (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ifonz.html)but you can also set up a nice result through Ultimate Launcher with a bit of set up work. The last simple way to do it would be to use FreeStyl (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-freestyl.html)Cheers, Michael
Guest jude123 Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks guys for the help. So what is this Manilla 2d thign lots of people talk about?
Guest Michael122w Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Manilla 2D is a very cool interface developed by HTC. It is a home screen plug in and has a few similarities with our Widgets (in a very vague conceptual way but not in a visual way). Like our widgets, you can not have M2D installed with other plug ins, and it provides you to a wide range of functions (like an access panel for music, text messages, weather, programs and settings). In the XML settings for M2D they actually refer to these access panels as widgets. The method of accessing our widgets and the access panels is very different. Unlike our widget dock where widgets have to be pulled from, the M2D has a sliding bar at the bottom which you move your finger across to navigate between panels. Each panel appears like a separate home screen - but the load time is very short (equivilant to pulling out a widget). In fact the M2D is a super responsive interface - super quick and has some great graphic effects. The SMS interface is particularly sweet, as the messages swish up the screen. On the down side - it takes a lot of space. If you are using a stock standard ROM with no other programs then you will be left with 17 MB of memory free - which is way too low. Thats why most people who want the M2D interface use the M2D03 ROM - which has removed a lot of the larger programs from the default ROM freeing up space for M2D. The biggest problem with M2D is that there is no landscape support - so if you are on the home screen and rotate your device it looks all crazy! (A program called RotationService helps with this problem though) If you are going to upgrade your ROM - you should try out PoSSoA's M2D ROM - its an interesting interface and many love it.
Guest invd Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Another good way to get an "almost Manila 2D"-Interface (which is, in my opinion, even better because much more configurable) is ThrottleLauncher with the TouchFlo3D Skin (http://www.throttlelauncher.com).
Guest Michael122w Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Another good way to get an "almost Manila 2D"-Interface (which is, in my opinion, even better because much more configurable) is ThrottleLauncher with the TouchFlo3D Skin (http://www.throttlelauncher.com). Hi invd, I agree that Throttlelauncher is a much more configurable set up and doesn't have the landscape issue. For me it is still a bit laggy and not nearly as smooth as M2D. Also the SMS interface - while similar - is vastly superior in M2D. Michael
