Complete Beginner

First I would like to say hello to all and thank you for letting me become a member of this great site.

I have been reading and reading for about a month off and on and desided to become a plus member just because of the way you help your members out and the overwelming amount of informaton you have here. I want to learn and have been trying to lern about my phone (omnia i900 16g with 4g card). I am sorry but it is very confusing all the things you can do to the phone. (i am totally new to all of this)I want to be able to get the most out of my phone without bricking it. (lol) I do not use my phone for bussiness or email. I use it for calling, texting, pictures, video recordings, watching movies, internet play and to play games....but really also to show off to friends..lol

Here is what I got off my phone:

also please dont shoot me for this...but when looking for software....(to buy or freeware..doesnt matter....what do I look for as far as what my phone will except..

I dont know what I need as far as updates ect ect. or how to do them. (and take off things on phone that I dont need but takes up space)I tried to install spbMobile shell along with a few others but couldnt get to work at all..... I did install omnia thread and it works great but i am so lost. I am sorry for needing a kick start but I am getting very confused.

I would like to trick my phone out but dont know how and I have read and read...I am sure once I get walked through a thing or two I will be able to start ding rest on my own and help others here....

I hope you all can understand were I am and give me a helping hand...
