Guest almark Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 What ones have you guys bought? What would you reccommend?
Guest madu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I bought All-Explorer. There is a demo on your Orange 8MB SD card (reinsert for autorun to start). I could not live without this, though it costs £7 and is just a File Explorer like in Windows. IA Album I also bought and it is a great little app - works magic for the camera and is generally usefull if you use any picture/camera functionality of the phone - rated at £13. An older ver. demo on Orange Card. GPRS Counter - I don't use it, but then we are still using our £6/month/10MB package. Tennis Addict is the best certified game for SPV so far. Quite expensive. Interstellar Flames is useless and the best thing it does is showing SPVs 3D graphics engine - impressive. Game is s**t though. No wonder it sells for £1. Full Hand Casino - booooring....... ZZZZzzzZZZzzZZZzzz Tubemap - (price)/(actual product) does not give a great result... £10?? NO WAY! Smartphony.org has a full (almost up to date) list of soft availible for the phone. BUT!! There are some great tools for the unlocked phone (see topic on decertification, it's a sticky): - Task Manager enables to close apps - GameBoy emulator - speaks for itself - Notbad is a notepad clone for SP - I am bored typing and there isn't much in my head atm apart from the above. tada
Guest akarno Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I can also recommend the Task Manager written by jacoch: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=2672 Again this need you to disable certification. And don't forget Doom, althought this will be a lot better when it is finished.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I was talking to a guy @ work who, no doubt like most of u older guys - loved to play Asteroids, Mame defender etc. I just recently played these and they rock - simple and addictive. Are they by any chance coming to the SPV?? Cheers SpAcE cOwBoY
Guest MBoden Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 i'm looking at mame ....amongst a ton of other stuff
Guest almark Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Does the site need a download section? I think that might be a good idea. Mods? Admin? what do you think?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 There was one in the beginning but unfortunatly not since the site was moved to a new server, probably to do with space and bandwith. If Paul gets chance to read this later I'm sure he will give a full account of why we do not have the feature now. Sorry can't be of any more help at the moment
Guest almark Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 that I could put to good use! I am playing with a SPV page at http://www.swishportal.com/spv/ if there was a top ten most requested / wanted downloads / I could probably host them. Paul send me a PM, if you are interested.
