Guest ldbs Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Does Using Other Country Roms Void Warranty?? example,, you have a signapore coded phone and you want to use a British rom? realistically it shoudnt cause they are all samsung roms right?
Guest shokka9 Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Sorry just had to.... If you have bought your Omnia and you own it and it isn't attached to any contract with a telecoms provider etc or whatever... then you are free to flash with what any Samsung firmware you want; it is your handset. If you brick it, you should be sorted if you are using genuine Samsung ROMS and get a replacement in the unlikely event of brick. However, if you are tied into a contract, or wish to use custom ROMs, then you are definitely voiding your warranty (especially custom ROMs) by using other country ROMs. Surely this is fairly explicit? If you are on a contract, you can (or supposed to) use the firmware updates available here http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp . If your country is available. If you do own your Omnia, it is your risk, at all times, if you want to flash it. Every flash has the potential to brick your Omnia. The steps you take before and after minimise this, however sh1t happens. Good luck. Please delve deeper into the world of Omnia and read more..... B)
