Does anyone know if korean version SCH-M495 is available for online purchase somewhere?

A couple of related questions:

1) Is there an option to run English version of WM 6.1 on it? (It comes with korean)

2) Does anyone know if by any chance korean carriers have crippled the GPS on it, same way Verizon crippled their Omnia?

For details the GPS thread is here: http://www.modaco.com/content-page/276371/...lp-us/page/220/

Thanks in advance for any information.

Any korean users with T*Omnia care to help us out and answer a couple of simple questions I asked in the very first post of this thread?

Been talking about this over on XDA-Devs and one guy there claims to have played with the 4gig version. He said the 4gb version didn't have Agps just normal. Also, he said that something like only 1000 will be made of the 16gb version so they will be very rare. He also said the 16gb version was extremley expensive, something like 1000USD ON CONTRACT! ... hope he's talking BS

Are you saying that our Omnia can scale to 480x800? That would be great as I just got the device and my biggest let down is the low resolution. I think this is too good to be true though. Anyone?

prp couldn't be more wrong about hardware being the same. T*Omnia has different hardware, its different in size, it's 1.5mm thicker, it has dvb-t digital tv tuner, bigger screen and the touchscreen hardware is different too. Boosting up the resolution on i900, i910 models is not possible. Once FCC testing docs for it are publicly available we'll be able to identify the chips in it. I also saw elsewhere the GPS radio is different - assisted GPS is not offered, it only has regular GPS. It might mean different radio, alhough could be just different radio firmware too.

That low res screen is one of the reasons the phone is so damn zippy..... if you had 800x480 on the same processor/speed, it would suddenly get a lot slower. I know, I had a Toshiba g900 a year or two ago and that had an 800x480 and sadly suffered from lag in places.

Still, with an 800mhz processor, things should role along nicely

secany mentioned in his thread another Omnia is coming next year - this better be US CDMA version with 800x480 res, ATSC tv tunner and not crippled GPS

I was not trying to tell they are completely the same of course but M490's rom if we find it will be perfect for porting the resolution comparing to other devices. We have seen so many ported roms from other devices even with different hardware till now so maybe it will be possible to do it with omnia. At least i hope so.

Resolution is not Software/ROM based, its hardware based

No mather what ROM you use the screen resolution will not be higher than the hardware screen resolution.
