how to make omnia automatically detect network settings

hi all,

i have tried desperately to make my omnia's online progams such as opera, diamond tv, google maps, core player, etc automatically detect network connection and not choose gprs all the time. i tried changing opera to automatically detect connection but it seems to default to gprs if i dont manually choose work (wifi)

i then chose automatically detect settings in settings>connections>browser connection

still no go.

so i manually shoft between internet and work in the settings>connections>connections>advanced>select networks tab ---which is so annoying

is there a way to automatically do this-

of course i make sure to have a strong wifi signal when testing this

any help would be appreciated

cheers

Hi travelbug,

I have set up all of my connections to be "internet" connections - rather than using the "work' setting. This means that when I set Opera (or any other progrem) to use the Internet connection it will find whichever of these are active (3G, wifi etc). I noted that you have set up your wifi as connecting to Work - what are the advantages of that setting?

hey michael,

thats what i have always done with my smartphones. i always thought to segregate my different connections as to not cause conflicts etc. it was also the recommended setup in xda developers a few years back

hmm your suggestion sounds very logical and i will try it out .

thanks for the input
